San Mateo County is set to expand its behavioral health infrastructure after Horizon Treatment Services secured state approval and a $2.5 million local funding match. The project, located at 826 Mahler Road in Burlingame, will consolidate sobering, withdrawal management, and residential treatment services under one roof to meet rising regional demand.
With the financial framework established by the state and the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, the project is moving into the pre-development stage. This phase includes finalizing design drawings and conducting community outreach. Horizon Services, a non-profit agency operating in the Bay Area since 1976, intends to host virtual office hours to engage Burlingame residents and local stakeholders as construction plans progress.
