The project addresses the historical complexity of European financial markets, where data was scattered across dozens of countries, resulting in inconsistent and expensive access for investors. By implementing a greenfield, cloud-native architecture, EPAM enabled high-volume data ingestion and processing. The technical stack includes the TimeBase database and messaging middleware to ensure low-latency performance for market participants.
EPAM Builds Cloud Infrastructure for EU's First Consolidated Tape
EuroCTP has launched the European Union’s first real-time consolidated tape for shares and ETFs, utilizing a cloud-native infrastructure engineered by EPAM Systems. The platform, live since September 14, 2026, aims to resolve decades of market data fragmentation across 130 trading venues by centralizing information into a single, regulated stream.

Beyond core infrastructure, the collaboration produced a suite of customer-facing portals and robust APIs. These tools facilitate real-time data access via FIX standards in SBE and secure web socket connections. According to Eglantine Desautel, CEO at EuroCTP, the partnership required a combination of technical capability and program governance to meet strict pan-European regulatory standards. EuroCTP, a joint venture owned by 16 European exchange groups, operates under a five-year mandate from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) to enhance market transparency across all 27 member states.
