Drafting a single Individualized Education Program typically consumes up to three hours of an educator’s day. As the number of students requiring special education services climbs to 8.2 million nationwide, districts are turning to AI-powered platforms to automate documentation and refocus staff capacity on direct student support.
Mesquite ISD reported similar gains in efficiency, reducing the time required to draft an IEP from three hours to 45 minutes. This shift effectively reclaimed over 10,000 hours of staff capacity across the district. Beyond documentation, the platform accelerated data analysis for Response to Intervention programs, allowing the district to identify 152 students for support compared to just 16 previously. According to Panorama Education CEO Aaron Feuer, the technology aims to move beyond simple automation by ensuring educators create individualized plans grounded in specific student context.
