The legal complaint targets the integrity of the REMAIN-1 Midpoint Cohort study, specifically questioning the data behind the Revita DMR System. Plaintiffs claim that one of the six participating clinical sites suffered from inadequate dietary and lifestyle counseling, which significantly altered weight maintenance results. While Fractyl Health presented the cohort as a robust randomized readout, the suit asserts that the company failed to disclose the site-level execution gaps that undermined the trial's accuracy.
The market impact was immediate following the January 29, 2026, disclosure of the trial data. Fractyl shares plunged 68.03% that day and dropped another 21.37% on January 30, resulting in a cumulative decline of approximately 74.86% from the class period high of $1.83. Following the release of the six-month data, which showed a 4.5% weight regain in Revita-treated patients—falling short of analyst expectations—Morgan Stanley slashed its price target for the stock from $8.00 to $2.00.
