Opus Taps Industry Veteran Mark Kunkel to Lead Capital Formation
Mark Kunkel, a seasoned real estate investment manager with a 25-year history of overseeing multi-billion dollar portfolios, has joined Opus as senior vice president of capital formation and investment strategy. Based in Minneapolis, he will report to CFO Pete Conlon to spearhead the diversification of the firm’s institutional investor base.
During his tenure at previous firms, Kunkel managed the acquisition, financing, and disposition of more than $3.0 billion in assets. Pete Conlon cited this extensive track record as a critical asset for accelerating the company’s fund formation strategy. Kunkel, who holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and maintains both CFA and CPA designations, will now apply that experience to align the company’s project pipeline with institutional-grade investment demands.
