New York City Hosts First Italian Wine Week Ahead of Vinitaly USA

From October 12 to October 25, 2026, over 100 retailers across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and Jersey City will host the inaugural Italian Wine Week. This citywide initiative serves as a public-facing bridge to the upcoming Vinitaly USA exhibition, aiming to deepen consumer engagement with Italy's diverse winemaking heritage.

The campaign targets neighborhood bottle shops to showcase the variety and value of Italian labels directly to local buyers. By providing participating retailers with point-of-sale display kits and coordinated media support, the Italian Trade Agency seeks to turn community storefronts into hubs of discovery. Consumers can navigate the participating shops via an interactive digital map, which highlights unique tastings and store-specific promotional offers available throughout the two-week activation.

This retail push acts as a strategic prelude to Vinitaly USA, which will occupy Pier 36 on October 26 and 27. While the Pier 36 event remains strictly for industry professionals and media, the retail activation ensures that the momentum of the exhibition reaches the broader consumer base. Erica Di Giovancarlo, Trade Commissioner and Executive Director for the USA, noted that the initiative connects local producers with the American market by leveraging the city's culinary culture. Retailers interested in joining the program can register online to gain access to promotional resources and complimentary trade passes for their staff.
