The new certification framework replaces previous assessment models with more structured requirements verified by independent third parties. Companies must now demonstrate measurable progress in key areas such as human rights, environmental stewardship, circularity, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. For illycaffè, this process serves as a validation of its long-term strategy to balance economic growth with its responsibilities to coffee-growing communities and global stakeholders.
illycaffè secures B Corp recertification under rigorous V2 standards
Trieste-based coffee giant illycaffè has officially secured its B Corp recertification, becoming one of the first to meet B Lab’s updated V2 standards. The achievement mandates stricter accountability across social and environmental impact areas, signaling a shift toward more transparent corporate governance for the family-owned firm.

CEO Cristina Scocchia noted that the recertification acts as an incentive to maintain rigor and consistency in the company's business practices. Juliette Caulkins, Managing Director of B Lab Europe, praised the company for its willingness to be independently verified during a period of rising public expectations for corporate accountability. Founded in 1933, the Italian firm reported consolidated revenue of €700 million in 2025, operating in over 140 countries while maintaining its focus on a single 100% Arabica blend.
