The wedgelock components serve a vital role within the SPY-6 array chassis, securing electronic modules while facilitating the thermal management necessary for operation in harsh naval environments. By bringing this manufacturing process in-house, Lyntris intends to mitigate the historically long lead times that have plagued the radar's production cycle. The company utilized its existing infrastructure for precision machining and electronics packaging to meet Raytheon's rigorous performance standards.
Lyntris Qualifies Critical Wedgelock Assembly for Navy SPY-6 Radars
After a two-year collaborative effort with Raytheon, defense contractor Lyntris has successfully qualified its in-house wedgelock assembly for the U.S. Navy’s SPY-6 radar family. This milestone aims to resolve long-standing supply chain bottlenecks for the high-power maritime systems currently deployed across the fleet.

Brian Morrison, CEO of Lyntris, described the qualification as a disciplined move to establish a more reliable hardware source for the Navy’s premier sensing platform. Beyond the immediate impact on the SPY-6 program, the company plans to leverage these expanded manufacturing capabilities across other radar and electronic warfare systems. This shift reflects a broader organic growth strategy focused on securing domestic supply chains for critical defense technologies.
