The company’s expansion trajectory shows little sign of cooling as it prepares to enter the Australian market with a debut site in Melbourne scheduled for early 2027. Since its initial inclusion in the 2024 rankings, Activate has scaled its footprint significantly, now serving a global player base that exceeds 14 million people. CEO Adam Schmidt attributes this momentum to a strategy of maintaining core research and development in Winnipeg while scaling the proprietary technology that powers the brand's interactive gaming rooms internationally.
Winnipeg-based Activate Scales Global Gaming Footprint
With a 958% growth rate, Manitoba’s Activate has secured its third consecutive spot on The Globe and Mail’s list of Canada’s Top Growing Companies. Ranking 35th nationally and second in the entertainment sector, the firm has rapidly evolved from a regional concept into a global network spanning 80 locations across 12 countries.
This latest recognition follows a strong year for the brand, which also topped the Financial Times list for the fastest-growing leisure and entertainment companies in the Americas. Current operations now reach markets across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, with further development pipelines active across several continents. The company continues to refine its physical gaming experiences, which emphasize high-intensity, team-based physical challenges.
