The platform centers on an oil-free magnetic-levitation compressor, which achieves isentropic efficiency of up to 87%. By integrating a patented condenser that provides subcooling of more than 3°C, the system delivers 40% higher energy efficiency and 8% lower failure rates than traditional oil-lubricated units. Maintenance costs are projected to drop by 10%, according to company data.
MagPro Targets Water-Scarce AI Data Centers with AeroLev 1850
Singapore-based joint venture MagPro has unveiled the AeroLev 1850, a 1.85 MW-class magnetic-bearing cooling platform. Engineered to operate in high-ambient temperatures, the system eliminates the need for water-intensive cooling towers, addressing a critical infrastructure hurdle for AI data centers located in arid regions.

Designed for scalability, the AeroLev 1850 supports high-temperature cooling architectures, including direct-to-chip and immersion liquid cooling, by supplying chilled water at temperatures up to 45°C. The modular design allows operators to expand capacity without significant infrastructure overhauls. MagPro, a partnership between CIGU Technology and EPG Data Technology, manufactures the units at a 6,000-square-meter facility in China, leveraging CIGU’s proprietary maglev drive technology to sustain operations in environments where water access is increasingly restricted.
