Modern rail systems increasingly rely on shared infrastructure to handle everything from video surveillance to essential control signals. The IRoN series addresses this convergence by integrating Time-Sensitive Networking, 10GbE connectivity, and PoE++ capabilities. These features allow operators to streamline cabling and device management while maintaining the strict performance standards necessary for railway safety.
ORing Debuts IRoN Railway Switches for Next-Gen Connectivity
At InnoTrans 2026, Taiwan-based ORing Industrial Networking unveiled its updated IRoN series, a suite of Ethernet switches engineered to manage the complex data demands of modern rail infrastructure. The company aims to balance critical control communications with high-bandwidth passenger services through hardware designed for the rigorous requirements of global transit operators.

Beyond hardware performance, ORing is shifting its focus toward proactive security protocols. The series aligns with IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 requirements and anticipates the regulatory standards set by the EU Cyber Resilience Act. By embedding protection at the device level, the company seeks to assist system integrators in meeting tightening international compliance mandates. The firm also showcased an ignition-controlled power device during the exhibition, designed to synchronize network activity with the operational cycles of a train’s power systems.
