Bluebird Fiber Taps Ekinops to Scale Midwest AI Corridor Connectivity
To meet surging demand from hyperscalers and data centers across the American Midwest, Bluebird Fiber has signed a multi-year deal with Ekinops. The infrastructure provider will integrate Ekinops’ optical networking hardware to overhaul its backbone, enabling 400G services across a 36,000-mile footprint spanning twelve states.
Joe Meyer, COO at Bluebird Fiber, noted that the collaboration provides the necessary agility to deploy upgrades rapidly as network traffic scales. For Ekinops, the agreement secures a strategic role in the ongoing expansion of the Midwest AI Corridor. Kevin Antill, Chief Revenue Officer for North America at Ekinops, described the contract as a validation of the company’s ability to deliver specialized networking solutions into high-demand markets.
