Promethean Adds On-Device AI Companion to Explain Everything App
Teachers can now generate lesson plans, quizzes, and translated materials directly within the Explain Everything app. By leveraging Apple Intelligence, Promethean’s new AI Companion processes data locally on the user's device, eliminating the need for internet connectivity and addressing common privacy concerns regarding third-party cloud processing in schools.
Michael Strand, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at Promethean, noted that the feature aims to reduce manual administrative tasks, granting instructors more capacity to engage with students. Because the AI operates entirely offline, schools avoid the regulatory hurdles often associated with external data handling. The AI Companion is included at no extra cost for existing Explain Everything Advanced and Pro subscribers using devices running iPadOS 27 or iOS 27 and later.
