Benjamin’s journey through Cornwall, Brighton, and Canterbury was more than a physical test; it functioned as a mobile forum for families navigating cognitive decline. Diagnosed with Alzheimer's at 67, she credits a personalized treatment plan developed with neurologist Dr. Dale Bredesen for her recovery. She now leads the Alzheimer's Survivors Foundation, an organization dedicated to documenting similar stories of symptom reversal and supporting those affected by brain health issues.
Dr. Judy Benjamin Completes 550-Mile Walk for Alzheimer's Awareness
After 1.3 million steps and nearly two months on the road, 82-year-old Dr. Judy Benjamin reached Lambeth Bridge in London on September 25. Her 550-mile trek from Land's End served as a public crusade to challenge the perceived inevitability of Alzheimer's disease and promote early diagnostic intervention.

During her stops, including a visit to the Linden care home in Lymington, Benjamin prioritized dialogue over distance. She often connected her personal history to the landscape, tracing her own ancestry back to 17th-century Canterbury. This UK expedition follows her 2025 cross-country walk across the United States, where she covered 2,870 miles from San Diego to St. Augustine. While her latest walk has concluded, Benjamin maintains that her advocacy work is ongoing, focusing on health coaching and pushing for a shift in how society addresses early-stage cognitive symptoms.
