Frederick Arts Council Seeks Vendors for Winter Market

Local makers and artists have until October 28 to secure a spot at the Winter Artist Market, a two-day event hosted by the Frederick Arts Council and the YMCA Ausherman Arts Center. The market, scheduled for November 27–28, aims to connect regional talent with holiday shoppers in downtown Frederick.

The event invites creators across all disciplines to showcase handmade goods at the 115 E. Church St. facility. Organizers view the seasonal showcase as a vital component in sustaining the local creative economy, providing a direct platform for artists to reach the community during the busiest retail period of the year. Executive director Louise Kennelly emphasized that such initiatives are essential for maintaining a vibrant and thriving arts ecosystem.

Applicants must submit their portfolios through Slideroom before the 11:59 p.m. deadline on October 28. This year's market coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Frederick Arts Council, marking five decades of advocacy, grant distribution, and public programming. Successful vendors will gain access to a high-traffic environment designed to highlight the diversity of Frederick’s creative practices.
