Kentucky American Water Opens Annual Firefighting Grant Cycle

Fire departments across 16 Kentucky counties have until October 23 to apply for the 15th annual Firefighting Support Grant Program. The initiative provides essential funding for equipment and training to both professional and volunteer stations operating within the water utility's service territory.

Since the program launched in 2011, Kentucky American Water has distributed $119,500 to local emergency responders. Company president Rob Burton emphasized that the grants serve as a vital resource for departments tasked with protecting regional communities. Eligible organizations must be located within the company's designated service area, which spans counties including Fayette, Scott, and Woodford. Interested departments can access application materials directly through the utility's official website.
