The initiative, led by the National Child Protection Task Force in partnership with Clearview AI and New York state agencies, focused on reviewing cold cases and generating new leads for endangered youth. The effort moved beyond simple location tracking, integrating social services to ensure recovered children received immediate care, including medical support and trauma-informed advocacy. One recovered youth had been missing for two years prior to the operation.
Operation Locates 34 Missing Children Across Long Island
A multi-agency task force has successfully located 34 missing children and teenagers across Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens counties. The rescue operation, which utilized advanced facial recognition technology and coordinated investigative support, targeted youth aged 7 to 18 who had been reported missing to local police departments.

Kevin Branzetti, CEO of the National Child Protection Task Force, emphasized that the collaboration between law enforcement and technology partners is essential for protecting vulnerable populations. To date, the organization has assisted in locating more than 253 missing children through similar targeted rescue efforts. Beyond the initial recovery, the task force coordinates with local welfare professionals to address the underlying circumstances of each disappearance and provide long-term stability for the youth involved.
