The Los Angeles site at 8250 Melrose Avenue functions as an immersive showroom, designed to replicate the discovery-based experience that has defined the brand since its 1984 founding. Visitors navigate a roughly 45-minute journey featuring interactive photo zones, character-themed merchandise, and a DIY customization corner inspired by South Korean stationery trends. The launch event on October 3 included an appearance by the group ILLIT, who serve as the brand's global ambassadors.
Korean Retailer ARTBOX Launches U.S. Expansion with Los Angeles Pop-Up
Korean lifestyle brand ARTBOX is testing the American market with a nine-day retail activation on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. Running through October 11, the pop-up features a collaboration with K-pop group ILLIT, serving as a strategic bridge to introduce the Seoul-based retailer’s character-driven products to U.S. consumers.

Kevin Cho, head of global business at ARTBOX, identifies Los Angeles as the initial entry point for the company’s broader U.S. ambitions. While currently operating 222 stores across South Korea with over 20,000 active SKUs, the retailer is now evaluating long-term brick-and-mortar opportunities in the U.S. market. By blending K-culture trends with a diverse catalog ranging from home goods to digital accessories, the company aims to capitalize on the rising global demand for Korean lifestyle retail.
