The upcoming event, scheduled for November 9-11 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, will feature AI safety and alignment expert Paul Christiano as the keynote speaker. The partnership aligns with Manulife’s internal Responsible AI Principles, which the firm uses to guide its own technology deployment and risk management strategies. Jodie Wallis, Manulife’s Global Chief AI Officer, stated that the organization intends to contribute its perspective on governance and innovation to the broader industry dialogue.

Ankesh Chandaria, CEO of the AI Safety Foundation, noted that the expanded support from the financial services provider will help bring critical discussions on AI responsibility to a wider audience. Manulife, which has been scaling its AI capabilities since 2016, recently secured top rankings in the 2026 Evident AI Index for Insurance. Beyond sponsoring the lectures, the firm's leadership will participate in the series to discuss the practical applications of AI within the insurance sector. The public can attend the sessions in person or via livestream by registering through the official event website.
