The gateway operates on the Qualcomm Dragonwing NPro A8 Elite Platform, integrating Wi-Fi 8 quad-band connectivity with intelligent software developed by Genix Networks. By processing data locally rather than relying exclusively on cloud infrastructure, the device intends to offer faster response times for network management while improving user privacy. Subscribers can interact with the system via natural-language voice commands to monitor device security, troubleshoot network performance, or trigger proactive maintenance tasks.
Gemtek and Qualcomm Debut AI-Native Wi-Fi 8 Home Gateways
At the Network X 2026 conference in Taipei, Gemtek Technology unveiled a broadband gateway designed to move artificial intelligence directly into the living room. Developed alongside Qualcomm and service provider gFiber, the hardware aims to replace traditional routers with a responsive, voice-controlled hub for local edge computing.

Gemtek positions the hardware as a functional centerpiece for the home, moving away from the aesthetic of hidden, industrial networking equipment. While Gemtek handles product engineering and Qualcomm supplies the underlying AI and connectivity architecture, gFiber will serve as the initial operator to deploy the technology. The companies have scheduled a commercial rollout for 2027, marking a shift toward agentic AI integrated directly into the broadband service layer.
