The Reading League sets 2027 event dates in Orlando and Charlotte

Following a decade of advocacy for evidence-aligned reading instruction, The Reading League has unveiled its 2027 event schedule, featuring a spring summit in Florida and a major fall conference in North Carolina that will highlight experts in organizational change and culturally responsive literacy.

The organization announced the dual-event lineup during its 10th anniversary gathering in Chicago. The 2027 Reading League Summit is slated for April 8–9 at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, where the curriculum will center on the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This event is designed as a hands-on, interactive experience, specifically structured to encourage district teams to attend together to foster collaborative implementation of literacy strategies.

Later in the year, the 11th Annual Conference will convene at the Charlotte Convention Center from September 29 to October 1. The program features keynote addresses from bestselling author Dan Heath and Dr. Gholdy Muhammad, a professor at the University of Illinois Chicago. Heath, known for his work on organizational change and the bestsellers Upstream and Switch, will open the conference. Dr. Muhammad, author of Cultivating Genius, will close the event by presenting her HILL Model, which offers a framework for integrating identity and history into literacy instruction. Registration for both events is currently open, with early-bird pricing available for attendees.
