Hitachi Debuts Independent Scroll Compressor Line at Chillventa 2026

At the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, Hitachi scroll compressor is hosting its first independent showcase at Chillventa 2026. The exhibit centers on the company’s pivot toward low-GWP refrigerants, specifically highlighting new DC inverter technology designed to meet the intensifying regulatory demands of the European heat pump market.

The display at Booth 1-637 highlights a strategic shift for Hitachi as it addresses the region's energy transition. Central to the showcase are compressors optimized for R-290 and R-454C, reflecting a broader industry push toward lower global warming potential solutions. The R-290 unit, featuring a GWP100 of 0.02, targets manufacturers looking to future-proof residential and commercial systems, while the R-454C-compatible model balances performance and safety standards for more complex HVAC applications.

Beyond heat pump technology, the company is demonstrating a move into specialized cooling sectors. The current portfolio includes fixed-speed compressors for refrigeration, horizontal scroll units for transport thermal management, and DC inverter systems tailored for energy storage temperature control. According to Wisdom Hao, General Manager of Guangzhou Bosch Home Comfort Compressor Technology, the event serves as a direct bridge to European partners as they navigate evolving refrigerant requirements. Hitachi is also signaling interest in the data center cooling market, leveraging over four decades of scroll compressor engineering to capture emerging thermal management opportunities.
