Miras Investments Recruits UNC Management Veteran for PE Leadership

Matthew Lesesky, a former managing director at UNC Management Company, has joined the Middle East-based single family office Miras Investments as global head of private equity. Reporting to chief investment officer Elizabeth Hewitt, Lesesky will spearhead the firm’s worldwide private equity strategy and oversee its co-investment activities.

Lesesky arrives at Miras with 14 years of experience from the Chapel Hill-based non-profit, where he managed venture capital, growth equity, and buyout portfolios for the University of North Carolina System. His background also includes investment management roles at Hatteras Funds and Pacific Corporate Group Capital Partners, alongside early-career stints at Citigroup and Fusion Ventures.

At Miras, which has operated since 1980, Lesesky will navigate an equity-biased portfolio that mirrors traditional endowment structures. The firm currently balances its investment operations between the United States and the Middle East, utilizing a mix of commingled third-party funds and direct co-investments to sustain its long-term asset growth.
