The wealth and retail banking arm reported $977 million in pre-tax profit, marking a 16 per cent increase. Standard Chartered Wealth Unit Records $20 Billion Inflows
A record $20 billion in net new money flowed into Standard Chartered’s wealth solutions business during the third quarter of 2026. This surge in affluent client acquisition helped the division generate $1.118 billion in operating income, significantly outpacing the broader banking group’s overall growth rate during the same period.

Philip Richards, a senior banks analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, noted that the record inflows underpin solid momentum, bolstered further by a 21 per cent revenue rise in Global Markets. Across the entire group, profit attributable to ordinary shareholders climbed 46 per cent to $1.504 billion. Return on tangible equity reached 15.7 per cent, a 520 basis point improvement, while the Common Equity Tier 1 capital ratio stood at 13.8 per cent at the end of September. CEO Bill Winters attributed the performance to the bank's strategy of capturing structural shifts in trade and wealth creation, particularly across its key markets in Asia.
