The company’s Architectural Wall Panel system serves as the centerpiece of its anniversary milestone, reflecting a transition from regional manufacturer to a global leader in protective building solutions. In Japan, these products have become a residential standard, used in more than 90 percent of local construction projects. In the United States, where the company has maintained operations for nearly 30 years, its influence has expanded across office, healthcare, and multi-family sectors.
Nichiha Marks Seven Decades of Cladding Innovation
Seven decades after its founding in Japan, building materials manufacturer Nichiha is marking its 70th anniversary by bridging the gap between Japanese residential expertise and American commercial-scale performance. The company currently employs over 3,000 people across 13 global locations, producing cladding systems designed to resist rot, moisture, and pests.
"After 70 years, we don't make claims about durability, the buildings speak for themselves," said Maria Fernandez, Director of Marketing at Nichiha USA. This focus on performance extends to the company’s corporate culture as well. During a recent national sales meeting in Macon, Georgia, teams constructed temporary structures using canned and dry goods, which were subsequently donated to the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank. The initiative provided two truckloads of food to local families, grounding the celebration of global industrial growth in the company's long-standing regional presence.
