The project is slated to begin production by the first quarter of 2027, serving as a critical pillar for Saudi Vision 2030. By manufacturing ESS solutions locally, the site will support the Kingdom’s ambitious targets of reaching 130GW of renewable capacity and 48GWh of storage. The plant will operate under European manufacturing standards, earning the "Made in Saudi" certification while specifically engineering systems to withstand extreme desert climates.
ZOE Energy Breaks Ground on Saudi Arabia’s First Battery Hub
A 150-acre facility rising in the Saudi desert aims to end the Kingdom’s reliance on imported battery technology. ZOE Energy Storage has finalized a joint venture to launch a manufacturing base designed to scale from an initial 6GWh to 18GWh, anchoring the nation’s shift toward a 50% clean power grid.

Beyond production, the site will host a Green Energy Academy to cultivate local expertise, ensuring a sustainable talent pipeline for the region. ZOE Energy Group Chairman Huang Jun described the investment as a decisive move in the company’s global expansion, following the success of their Hungarian hub. The facility is positioned to supply markets across the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia, effectively transforming the Kingdom from a traditional energy exporter into a regional manufacturer of clean energy equipment.
