Located at 3320 Buford Drive, the new outlet represents a pivot for the business partners, who transitioned from frequent customers to franchise operators. The duo discovered the brand during trips to Florida, eventually deciding to bring the concept to their own community. The site features indoor seating and a custom mural incorporating local landmarks like Lake Lanier and the city's historic train to ground the national brand in Buford’s specific identity.
Jeremiah's Italian Ice Expands Georgia Footprint With Buford Opening
A former Florida vacation staple is now a local business in Gwinnett County. First-time franchise owners Kristina McCarthney and Laura Wenzel opened a new Jeremiah's Italian Ice location near the Mall of Georgia in May, marking the brand’s 178th shop as it continues its aggressive national expansion.

CEO Michael Keller highlighted the move as a strategic win in a high-traffic family market. The chain’s growth strategy relies on a streamlined menu—centered on Italian Ice, soft ice cream, and their signature layered Jelati—which simplifies operations for franchisees while maintaining a consistent guest experience. Since launching its franchise model in 2019, the Orlando-based company has scaled to include more than 175 locations across the Southern United States, backed by recent industry recognition from Datassential and Entrepreneur magazine.
