Kudu Investment Management Takes Stake in Drummond Capital Partners
New York-based Kudu Investment Management has secured a minority interest in Australian boutique firm Drummond Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum. The deal marks a strategic expansion for Kudu into the Australian wealth management market, leveraging Drummond’s established footprint across Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, and Perth.
Chris Shin, partner and co-chief investment officer at Kudu, cited the long-term potential of the Australian wealth sector as the primary driver for the acquisition. Schubert emphasized that the partnership was chosen specifically for Kudu’s permanent capital structure, which allows Drummond to preserve its operational independence. Since 2015, Kudu has built a portfolio of 34 asset and wealth managers representing $154 billion in assets, backed by White Mountains Insurance Group and MassMutual.
