Murrieta Marks 35 Years With Expanded Summer Calendar

With the mercury rising across Southern California, Murrieta is positioning itself as a regional hub for summer tourism. The city, marking its 35th anniversary this year, is balancing a schedule of community festivals and concert series with a push toward wellness-focused travel at its geothermal resorts.

The Murrieta Hot Springs Resort serves as the centerpiece for the city's seasonal appeal. Recently recognized as the #3 Hot Springs and #2 Spa Resort in the 2025 USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards, the facility features more than 50 natural geothermal pools and cold plunges. Beyond wellness, the city is targeting families with a cluster of indoor entertainment venues, including Uptown Jungle, Urban Air Adventure Park, and The Clubhouse - Indoor Golf World, which offer climate-controlled alternatives to outdoor heat.

Community engagement centers on the 35th Annual Birthday Bash, scheduled for June 27 at California Oaks Sports Park. This event commemorates the city’s 1991 incorporation with live entertainment and local vendors. The festivities extend into late summer with the Saturday Night Concert Series at Town Square Park & Amphitheatre. Running through July and August, the lineup includes performances by tribute acts like Rain and The Police Academy, alongside local artists such as the Chris Lozano Band. Detailed itineraries and event schedules are available through the city's tourism portal, exploremurrieta.com.
