The new facility in Volos serves as the cornerstone of a broader industrial strategy to secure national sovereignty while contributing to European autonomy. Spanning a total of 100,000 square meters, the hub now houses six interconnected units, consolidating capabilities from raw material processing to final assembly and technical support. This development follows the roadmap laid out during the company’s April 2025 Capital Markets Day in London, reflecting a commitment to scaling high-tech industrial output.
METLEN Expands Volos Defence Hub to Bolster European Security
METLEN has inaugurated the fourth production unit at its M Technologies Hub in Volos, signaling a strategic shift for Greece as it integrates into the European defence value chain. The expansion transforms the site into a vertically integrated complex capable of manufacturing complex defence systems for global markets.

Executive Chairman Evangelos Mytilineos emphasized that the unit represents more than mere manufacturing capacity; it is a response to a volatile geopolitical landscape where security has returned to the center of economic policy. By leveraging 25 years of industrial expertise, METLEN aims to provide the self-sufficiency required to navigate shifting international alliances. The investment reinforces Greece’s domestic defence base, positioning the country as a critical partner in the continent's evolving security architecture.
