Accuity Taps Gary Basra to Scale Physician-Governed AI Platform

With over 800,000 chart reviews processed last year, Accuity is doubling down on its technical infrastructure by appointing Gary Basra as Chief Technology Officer. Basra, a veteran of ParetoHealth and Global Care Analytics, will spearhead the expansion of the company’s Amplifi engine as hospital demand for automated clinical integrity surges.

Accuity Taps Gary Basra to Scale Physician-Governed AI Platform

Basra arrives at the Mount Laurel-based firm with two decades of experience in scaling engineering teams within private equity-backed healthcare environments. His track record includes building machine learning platforms tailored for payer-provider transaction analysis—a background that aligns with Accuity’s current strategy to refine its hybrid model of machine intelligence and expert human oversight.

CEO Todd Van Meter emphasized that the company’s growth trajectory necessitates a leader capable of balancing rapid technical scaling with the firm's core commitment to physician-led decision making. Last year, the Amplifi engine analyzed more than 7 million inpatient charts, marking a 340% increase in volume. As Basra steps into the role, his mandate focuses on ensuring this infrastructure remains resilient and defensible across the 400 hospitals currently utilizing the platform. The objective remains clear: enhancing the accuracy of coded records to ensure clinical reality is reflected in administrative revenue capture.
