The changeover does not signal a shift in ownership, staffing, or daily management. For the residents of Richmond, Rosenberg, and Sugar Land, the transition provides a direct link to the broader resources and technological infrastructure of Group 1 Automotive. According to General Manager Martin Morcho, the primary goal is to provide a consistent, transparent customer experience across the company’s 250 dealerships.
Group 1 Automotive Rebrands Richmond Toyota Dealership
The former Sterling McCall Toyota Fort Bend in Richmond officially transitioned to Group 1 Toyota Fort Bend on October 8, 2025. This rebranding marks a significant step in the Houston-based retailer’s nationwide strategy to unify its expansive network under a single, recognizable identity while maintaining existing local operations.

Despite the new signage at 20465 Southwest Freeway, the dealership retains the local team that has served Fort Bend County for over two decades. The move aligns the location with Group 1’s national platform, standardizing services ranging from vehicle sales and maintenance to collision support. By streamlining its retail presence, the company aims to simplify the automotive shopping experience for consumers who rely on the brand’s consistent pricing and scheduling standards.
