Riccardo Corzani to Lead Julius Baer’s Lugano Operations

Riccardo Corzani will step into the role of branch manager at Julius Baer’s Lugano office on 1 September 2026. He assumes the position following the retirement of Ettore Bonsignore, who departs after a 40-year career in wealth management and seven years of leadership at the Swiss financial institution.

Corzani joined the bank in September 2023 and currently serves as market head for Italy and Ticino. His expanded mandate will integrate the management of local Lugano operations with his existing oversight of group entities in Milan, including the Italian branch of Bank Julius Baer Europe and Julius Baer Fiduciaria.

Carlos Recoder, co-head of Western Markets and Switzerland, credited the outgoing Bonsignore with solidifying the firm’s influence across Italian-speaking regions. The bank maintains a significant presence in Lugano, which serves as Switzerland’s third-largest financial hub and employs approximately 130 staff members. Corzani’s appointment is intended to provide leadership continuity as the firm focuses on client service and market expertise in the region.
