The project involves the construction of a photovoltaic array designed to provide onsite power for a facility that supports the Army Reserve, Naval Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, and the New York National Guard. Abundant Solar Power Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Toronto-based PowerBank, will oversee the engineering, procurement, and construction phases following a solicitation from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
PowerBank Secures $2.95 Million Federal Solar Contract in New York
PowerBank Corporation has landed a $2.95 million federal contract to build a solar array and electric vehicle charging infrastructure at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Farmingdale, New York. The project, awarded by the Department of Defense and the Department of the Army, marks the company’s first direct federal engagement.

Andrew van Doorn, President and Chief Operating Officer of PowerBank, described the contract as a validation of the firm's institutional-grade capabilities. The company, which has completed over 100 megawatts of energy projects to date, expects this installation to mirror the rigorous standards required by Federal Acquisition Regulations. This development arrives alongside a series of state-level solar and battery storage projects the company is currently delivering for the New York Department of Military and Naval Affairs.
