While physical locations remain shuttered for the holiday, the agency maintains digital access for essential tasks. Customers can utilize the official website to manage address changes, renew PO Box agreements, or print shipping labels via the Click-N-Ship portal. For those requiring physical drop-off capabilities, many retail lobbies host self-service kiosks that remain operational 24/7. These stations allow users to weigh packages, purchase postage, and track shipments independently of staff availability.
USPS Schedules Holiday Closures for Independence Day
The United States Postal Service will suspend all retail operations and regular mail delivery on Saturday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Normal service is scheduled to resume on Monday, July 6, following a full day of standard operations on Friday, July 3, across all nationwide branches.

As the organization marks its 250th anniversary, it is rolling out commemorative merchandise and patriotic packaging at local offices beginning in early July. The agency continues to expand its automated infrastructure, including the deployment of Rapid Dropoff Stations and smart lockers, to facilitate package handling outside of traditional business hours. These tools provide a workaround for residents needing to process shipments while the federal establishment observes the holiday.
