The city’s strategic pivot centers on absorbing manufacturing and research capacity from Beijing and Tianjin. The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Cangzhou Biomedicine Industrial Park now hosts 70 firms, including production facilities for Beijing Yimin. This industrial influx is supported by a growing innovation network, with local research platforms like the Hebei branch of the National Beidou Navigation Location Service Data Center facilitating over 20 billion yuan in technology contracts with partners in Beijing and Tianjin.
Cangzhou Leverages Regional Integration to Reshape Industrial Base
Cangzhou is transforming its role within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei corridor, capturing significant industrial relocation and infrastructure investment. By shifting away from its traditional identity as a cultural hub, the coastal city has secured 170 collaborative projects worth 68.4 billion yuan since 2023, effectively tethering its economy to the capital's resources.

Logistics and public services are evolving in tandem with this industrial shift. Cangzhou is integrating Huanghua Port with the Xiong'an New Area through a streamlined customs model, allowing goods to bypass traditional bottlenecks. Simultaneously, the city has integrated its social infrastructure, establishing 27 medical alliances and attracting nearly 25,000 retirees from neighboring municipalities. Environmental gains, including a 15% reduction in the air quality index since 2023, and a robust tourism sector that drew 57.3 million visitors in 2025, further underscore the city's transition toward a modernized, service-oriented regional node.
