Founded in 1967, the Shinjuku-based institute has served over 9,000 students from more than 90 countries. The accreditation marks a transition from the former Ministry of Justice notification framework to the current MEXT-led system, which focuses on enhancing educational outcomes and institutional reliability.
Nichibei Kaiwa Gakuin Secures Official MEXT Accreditation
The Nichibei Kaiwa Gakuin Japanese Language Institute in Tokyo has officially received accreditation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Effective April 30, 2026, the status recognizes the institute’s compliance with rigorous national standards for faculty, curriculum, and operational quality in the Study Abroad category.
President Yo Konno noted that the recognition reaffirms the school’s long-standing mission to foster global understanding through high-quality language instruction. Located near Yotsuya Station, the institute utilizes proprietary learning materials designed to build professional-level Japanese proficiency. By meeting these updated government requirements, the center aims to further refine its student support services, which range from daily life assistance to long-term professional guidance for international learners.
