Xtalks Launches Global Alliance for Life Science Nonprofits

The new alliance, known as XLSU, seeks to move beyond the fragmented nature of the current life sciences landscape. While the industry is deeply interconnected, many advocacy groups and research networks operate in silos without a centralized forum to share resources or address common challenges. XLSU intends to facilitate these connections through webinars, editorial content, and ongoing community engagement.

Sara Hadi, PhD, Director of XLSU, noted that the project is intended to foster conversations that advance scientific progress and improve patient outcomes. The initiative officially kicks off on July 13, 2026, with a panel discussion titled "How Advocacy Perspectives Can Improve Neurology Research." This inaugural event will feature representatives from the National Ataxia Foundation, the Accelerated Cure Project, the Epilepsy Association of Edmonton and Northern Alberta, and the FamilieSCN2A Foundation. The discussion will focus on overcoming barriers to diagnosis and defining research priorities for neurological care.

Membership in the network is free for qualifying nonprofits, including research networks, societies, and foundations. Beyond the initial neurology event, the organization plans to roll out a series of leadership interviews and educational initiatives to support its members. The platform builds on Xtalks' two-decade history of connecting professionals in FDA- and EMA-regulated industries, extending its reach from individual experts to the organizational level.
