Robert Irving Burns Targets £33 Billion Debt Wall with New Advisory

With £33 billion in commercial loans maturing in 2026, London-based Robert Irving Burns has launched a private finance arm to assist clients navigating a landscape of elevated interest rates and tighter lending criteria. The new division aims to bridge the widening equity gap for investors and developers facing asset repricing.

The firm’s new advisory practice arrives as the property sector struggles with a significant maturity cohort, forcing borrowers to refinance into a market characterized by lower loan-to-value ratios. By integrating this finance specialty with its existing investment, commercial, and residential departments, the agency aims to provide a multidisciplinary approach to asset management.

Adam Jaffe, a veteran with over 25 years of experience in London’s finance market, will lead the practice as senior director. He will work alongside CEO Antony Antoniou, who brings additional expertise from his role at the family office Aspida Capital. According to Antoniou, the launch provides the disciplined counsel required for an era where capital remains available, but finding the right structural solution has become increasingly complex. The team is now engaging with lenders and developers to protect portfolio value through a period of market fluctuation.
