The sub-fund, managed by BNY Investments’ fixed income specialist Insight Investment, aims to outperform the Secured Overnight Financing Rate. It focuses on a diversified portfolio of short-term fixed income and money market securities. This launch represents the bank's fifth addition to its VCC lineup in 2026, reflecting a broader trend of high-net-worth investors maintaining elevated cash positions amid persistent market volatility.
Standard Chartered Expands Singapore VCC Platform
Standard Chartered has launched its 10th sub-fund under its Singapore-domiciled Variable Capital Company platform, securing $2.6 billion in assets under management since the start of the year. The new Signature Select Premium Cash Reserve Fund targets clients seeking capital preservation combined with returns exceeding standard cash rates.

Doni Shamsuddin, head of Asia-Pacific at BNY Investments, noted that the strategy provides an enhanced cash management solution with daily liquidity, catering to current investor demand for portfolio resilience. The fund is currently rolling out to Accredited and Professional Investor clients across Standard Chartered’s private banking segments in Hong Kong, Singapore, the UAE, Jersey, Kenya, and Nigeria. While the VCC framework has become a cornerstone of Singapore’s wealth management sector since 2020, regulators have recently tightened oversight to ensure these flexible corporate structures maintain independent custody and proper governance standards.
