Ben Ammar arrives at a firm with a long-standing history in the region, spanning five decades since George Russell’s initial visits and 15 years of continuous presence in Dubai. He joins from Banco Santander International, where he served as executive director, bringing a background that includes leadership roles at Lombard Odier, Pictet Asset Management, and Clearstream Banking Group.

Jim Leggate, head of EMEA, noted that the appointment comes as the firm experiences rising demand for its open-architecture investment models and portfolio construction expertise. Russell Investments currently manages approximately $418 billion in assets globally, and Ben Ammar’s focus will be on translating that scale into localized solutions for regional investors pursuing long-term financial objectives.
