Baker-Barnes made history as the first Black woman to serve as president of The Florida Bar, while Hirani concluded her term as the second Indian American president of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD). Their collaboration prioritized mentorship and professional development, leveraging their backgrounds from the Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association to modernize member engagement.
Throughout their tenure, the YLD expanded its reach through high-impact events, including its largest Affiliate Outreach Conference and the inaugural Florida Bar Job & Resource Fair. The latter drew participants from across the country, connecting job seekers with over 70 employers and resulting in immediate job offers. The leadership duo also addressed the shifting legal landscape by hosting a landmark AI seminar that attracted 4,200 attendees, alongside a regional listening-session series that provided a platform for 500 members to discuss court operations and case management challenges.
